Spring is literally just around the corner and although the weather here in England is still pretty grim, we are starting to see glimpses of sun and slightly ‘higher’ temperatures. I love spring because of all the pretty flowers that start to bloom- my University has all of a sudden had a surge of daffodils and it is so beautiful. The yellow just makes me feel happy!
As we say goodbye to Autumn/Winter, we can begin to welcome spring trends, and a dab of pastels and bright colours. Here are some of the things I’m eyeing up this month from the High Street.

I’m really loving some of the denim clothing that is out at the moment. Ripped jeans and shorts are a key feature most years for spring/summer and this year is no exception. I love these ones from Topshop where they are ripped at the knee (5) and I know I’d pair them with a white oversized tee such as this one from BooHoo (they love an oversized tee in every colour!), and some cute pastel coloured pumps or moccasins. The denim jacket is a classic staple item and I love the boyfriend style with a borg lining and collar in this one (4). Monochrome is staying and has been featuring on spring 2014 catwalks so far, and there are some gorgeous casual tees out there (2) as well as tribal prints. Pastels are going to be prominent this season so I’ve opted for some pastel ankle strap shoes (7), and a pastel coloured scarf (3). If your outfit is lacking colour its always nice to add a splash of it within your accessories or lip colour (8).

Metallica will be an emerging spring summer trend, and I have recently come across Monki and am loving the clothing on there- its also affordable (big bonus!). This metallic skirt (1) is definitely something I want to get my hands on! Again I have gone bold and added some bright pieces to my favourites. The yellow dress (3) has spring/ summer written all over it, and I am big fan of yellow!! The clutch bag in bright orange (5) would stand out and that pop of colour to your outfit, along with this satin lip pencil that I have literally been pining for from Nars (4)! In terms of accessories there are a range of gorgeous pieces for day and night and I find that accessories (mainly jewellery) can be quite versatile in when you wear them. The new collection Karma Beads by Thomas Sabo (2) are stunning with a variety of silver, pearl and stone beads. The beads are said to represent good karma, happiness, inner balance and goodness.
