Bobbi Brown lipglosses are my ultimate favourite lipglosses. For this reason, I don’t consider them a luxury (even though the brand and price say otherwise). I simply love them because they have the loveliest range of colours and I find that whether you are wearing a sheer colour or not, they really add an extra dimension to your make up.
A few years ago when I was living in Barcelona, I became more drawn to Bobbi Brown lip glosses and the first one I bought was ‘Tangerine’. I loved the coral-like colour and thought that it wasn’t too bold, but still had that orange twinge to it. I wore it all the time! Since then I have replenished this same colour, still wear it often and even add it to lipsticks.Bobbi Brown lip gloss is highly moisturising and actually comforts dry lips with its added ingredients of Jojoba Oil, Cocoa and Shea butters, Avocado oils and Vitamin C. There is also SPF 15 for lip protection. So this is an all round gloss that keeps fine lines away and allows your lips to look healthy, moisturised and plumped. I guess that can justify the £18 spend!
A few months ago I was introduced to Sleek Makeup and whilst scouring through their website I found their lip glosses. I found this orange-y shade and when I received it I realised it was practically the same colour and finish as my Bobbi Brown Tangerine. Dupe or what! The Sleek Makeup Blasé lipgloss doesn’t quite boast as many ingredients as Bobbi Brown however it does also have SPF 15. I have to say, although I love the Bobbi Brown lipgloss (Tangerine) and prefer the doe-foot applicator, the Sleek Makeup version (Blasé) has a gorgeous glossy shine and finish. There is slightly more colour and it is a little thicker. They both wear just as nicely, (as long as you can expect a lipgloss to last anyway). Blasé by Sleek is totally affordable at £1.99 with slightly less in the tube (compared to £18 for Tangerine by Bobbi Brown), but for the price, it seems reasonable! As you can see below, the colours hardly differ and the finish is also similar. Sounds strange but they also smell the same! Here’s a summary of both lip glosses!
